    Control Room Operator (Lichtenburg)

    Minimum Qualification/Experience:

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Control all major process lines within the cement manufacturing operation including equipment commissioning, start- ups, shutdowns, and emergency condition management as per established SOPs in order to meet production requirements.
    • Monitor continuously, all plant process lines using all available tools to ensure employee safety, stable equipment operation, equipment integrity within prescribe design limitations, operating targets, and environmental regulations.
    • Control product quality at all stages of the cement manufacturing process by having a clear understanding of the targets, and the levers that are used to control the targets, along with the appropriate decision-making process based on the impact of each lever.
    • Coordinate plant resources to troubleshoot, inspect, and maintain plant equipment as required, to meet production demands and prevent failures.
    • Maintain awareness of the automation system control strategy and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
    • Communicate effectively with all levels of the plant organization in both verbal and written format.
    • Maintain awareness of plant operating costs. Considers these costs regularly in the decision-making process.
    • Responsible for timely communication of stoppages/production issues/resources shortage
    • Responsible for smooth shift handover with clear report on issues faced during the preceding shift.

    Minimum Qualification/Experience:

    • Matric/ Grade 12 or equivalent.

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience

    • Grade 12 or equivalent.

    • Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) for Mine & Works essential

    • Responsible for ensuring that the provisions of the regulations relating to machinery are fully complied with, which include: 1) Safe installation and proper operation, running and maintenance of all machinery, 2) The safe erection and proper maintenance of all buildings, structures and tanks, 3) Taking all reasonable measures to ensure that all safety appliances, mechanisms and guards are maintained in good condition, that the provisions of the regulations relating to machinery are fully complied with, 4) Ensuring that the work of any apparatus or machine, the use of which may constitute a danger to any person, is stopped immediately.
    • Ensure proper discipline and compliance with the legal provisions and requirements.
    • On behalf of employer authorize operators in writing.
    • In addition to the statutory responsibilities, ensure compliance with the SHE Management System within your area of responsibility.
