    Project Administrator

    Minimum Requirements

    • Applicants must have a Tertiary Administrative Diploma or equivalent.
    • Project Management Certificate will be an advantage.
    • 5 years’ experience in project administrative environment and Project Management environment
    • Computer Literate – SAP Project System, Investment Management (Costing), Materials Management, CATS, Cost Centre Expenditure, Profit Centre Expenditure, MS Office.
    • Proven communication, strong influencing, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills.

    Primary Duties

    • Assist the project managers in the implementation of projects in the department.
    • Prioritize and type technical reports and manage their circulation to various delegated authorities.
    • Undertake the creation of requisitions, contract payments, and receipt of goods in compliance with Rand Water’s policies.
    • Capture travelling claims and timesheets on the SAP system.
    • Produce variance reports and assist in the project status reporting.
    • Assist the project managers in updating the project files.
    • Assist project managers with tender documents.
    • Assist with Compiling and maintaining the Assets Register for various Departments in the Division.
    • General administrative functions, including the logistics and travel arrangements for the project team.

    Project Administrator - Alberton

    Minimum Requirements

    • Matric or Grade 12 and project related qualification or project management qualification or certificate
    • At least 2 years’ experience in project environment
    • At least 2 years’ experience in MS Project
    • Proven track record using MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook

    Primary Duties

    • Oversee all the administrative functions for a designated training Project.
    • Facilitation of quality management system which includes quality control and quality assurance issues.
    • Facilitation of the PMO processes, reporting systems, stakeholder liaison, milestone tracking, and project integration factors.
    • Maintaining project plans for the designated training Project.
    • Monitoring weekly milestones.
    • Set up and facilitate support functions covering planning, tracking, reporting, quality management and internal communication.
    • Produce consolidated reporting to the Project Manager, including milestone summary, key issues, risks, benefits, summary of costs incurred.
    • Establish standards, tools, and procedures for use on the project, including issues, risk, change and information management.
    • Provide functional expertise in an administrative process
    • Work with project team members to ensure the project meets business needs.
    • Prepare weekly and monthly project reports.
    • Facilitate pre and post training activities for the designated project.
    • Facilitateall logistics to make the training a success.
    • Facilitate workshops, meetings and events around project implementation, feedback sessions with clients and other related processes, including travel arrangements and expense reports.

    Water Quality Specialist - Customers

    Minimum Requirements

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Science or engineering education – NQF8
    • General management education - NQF6
    • 5 years of science or engineering experience in the water industry
    • 3 years experience managing science or engineering staff
    • Code 8 driver’s licence
    • Competent in WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, pro-ADOBE, Outlook, etc.

    OTHER DESIRABLE NEEDS

    • Science or engineering education – NQF8/9
    • General management education - NQF7
    • Education, marketing, or communications education – NQF6
    • 8 years of science or engineering experience in the water industry
    • 5 years experience managing science, engineering, education, marketing, or communications staff
    • 2 years experience in consumer education, marketing, or communications
    • Blue Drop / Green Drop / No Drop experience
    • ISO9001 or ISO22000 experience
    • Risk management experience
    • Artificial intelligence experience

    Primary Duties

    Educating consumers on Water Wise:

    • Design Water Wise education/awareness processes targeted at wise use of water
    • Implement Water Wise education/awareness processes targeted at the wise use of water
    • Assess the effectiveness and determine the value-add of Water Wise education/awareness processes implemented
    • Design and develop appropriate resources/tools for Water Wise education/awareness processes
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of resources/tools used in Water Wise education/awareness processes

    Managing relationships with customer municipalities:

    • Conduct water quality interface meetings with customer municipalities.
    • Formulate and negotiate water quality clauses for supply contracts with customer municipalities.
    • Formulate and participate in Rand Water initiatives to assess its water quality performance by customer municipalities.
    • Assist customer municipalities in monitoring water quality supplied to consumers.
    • Resolve consumer and media queries and complaints on water quality.

    Participating in the organisational Water Quality Management System:

    • Provide strategic direction to the organisation on water quality management
    • Develop the organisation Water Quality Management System from catchment to tap
    • Conduct tasks as delegated by the organisation’s Water Quality Management System
    • Ensure the organisation is compliant with legislation on water quality aspects.
    • Assess if the situation poses an unacceptable public health risk to consumers from available water quality and other data/information.
    • Lobby/influence internal and external stakeholders to change decision-making and behavior in the interest of consumer health protection.
    • Conduct activities in ancillary areas that could influence water quality.
    • Identify opportunities for digital Artificial Intelligence technology and implement solutions thereof.

    Management of Section:

    • Provide leadership to the section.
    • Plan, organise, and control section work.
    • Conduct project management activities.
    • Manage section human resources.
    • Manage section finance and procurement.
    • Manage SHEQ aspects for section.
