Utilities Supervisor (Lichtenburg) at Afrimat

Minimum Qualification/Experience:

• Matric/ Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Trade test certificate as a Fitter and Turner.
• 5 - 7 years of relevant experience in the Cement Industry, with at least 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
• A Supervisory qualification would be advantageous.
• Extensive knowledge of technical techniques, tools, and equipment.
• Must be Computer literate
• Valid South African driver's license
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in the construction and cement industry.
• Problem solving, team management, time management, supervisory and planning skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Responsible for the mechanical maintenance of compressors, Rotary blowers, hot water pumps, water treatment plant, Raw water pumping station & oil decanting & transportation system.
• Plans, directs, and manages a major function of the Mechanical activities for the complete area.
• Manage & supervise all Routine & Non-routine Mechanical jobs
• Checks daily check lists for abnormalities.
• Plan & Manage all maintenance jobs for Routine Shut down or break down Maintenance.
• Manage all consumable item’s inventory & spare parts to reduce down time & Cost Optimization.
• Responsible for all the tools & Spare parts inventory & keeping in good condition.
• Manage Engineering Manpower according to duty roster & especially in case of emergency.
• Maintain Moral & Discipline in the team
• Maintaining the Mechanical History Cards of all Machines after any major activity.
• Fellows the Preventive Maintenance works & does Maintenance at request of Supervisor/Foreman PM.
• Implementation of safety procedures during Shut down or routine maintenance
• Spare Parts & Consumable items inventory
• Tools Inventory lists.
• Manage the Shifting of Spare Parts etc.
• Must be able to work in a workshop and plant environment.
• Must be available on standby
• The candidates must be medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Company standards for medical fitness.
