    Trusts and Deceased Estates Administrator

    Main Purpose of Position:

    The primary focus of the role is to administer trusts and attend to the administration of deceased estates (local and foreign) from initial consultation to finalisation including the taxation aspect of a deceased estate in terms of relevant legislation.

    Minimum Requirements    

    Requirements:

    • Trust and Deceased estates experience of at least 3 - 5 years
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Knowledge of Fennec Flow will be an advantage
    • Knowledge of Greatsoft will be an advantage

    Minimum level of Education/ Qualifications Required:

    • Grade 12, and
    • Relevant B Degree/Diploma or Certificate in Estates / Trust Administration

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    Position Overview:

    Trust Administration

    • Constituting and arranging of meetings with trustees;
    • Attending to banking for the trust;
    • Drafting of Resolutions by Board of Trustees;
    • Attending to Trustee changes and Deed of Amendments and submitting to the Master’s office;
    • Follow-ups with the Master’s office on pending matters;
    • Drafting of beneficial ownership- and accountable institution registers and submission thereof with the relevant authority, in terms of relevant legislation.

    Deceased Estates

    • Reporting deceased estates to the Master;
    • Placement of advertisements;
    • Attending to banking for the estate;
    • Adhering to the requirements of stakeholders to ensure prompt receipt of information;
    • Overseas liaison with financial and legal institutions when necessary;
    • Compiling and verifying the accuracy of the supporting vouchers to the liquidation and distribution account and ensuring that same is delivered to various stakeholders;
    • Ensure timely receipt of all proceeds owed to the estate and transfer of assets to the beneficiaries;
    • Securing all relevant tax certificates for the finalization of the income tax assessment;
    • Addressing any inquiries from the Masters office and SARS;
    • Ensure beneficiaries, creditors, debtors and other stakeholders to the estate are kept fully informed of the progress;
    • Ensuring full compliance with the Administration of Estates Act, current tax legislation, and other relevant laws subject to change.

    Wills

    • Draft, amend and update Wills;
    • Wills- and Estate planning administration.
