    Transport Planning Supervisor - Freight

    Job Description

    • Accountable for delivery of daily Transportation plans .
    • Accountable to Resolve optimization issues driven by order changes and ship date delays. Work closely with Transport planner to resolve
    • Accountable for all demand for STO, Customer Sales and manual orders requests that are received, are planned on time to meet required delivery date and time
    • Accountable to reconcile all demand received from NewPage/Manual order request into the GTMS and also ensure where applicable all loads are available on WMS for execution.
    • Support Work with the Network Enabler and Technical Development teams to improve solution or technology solution quality
    • Work with the field to resolve daily execution issues that arise. Support the field by insuring emergency shipments are managed in a timely manner and meet service expectations (out of regular business hours)
    • Manage the order feed processes to the Transportation Management System including those generated by various Order Management Systems and those manually entered
    • Supervise and Collaborate with (Transport Planners) to balance daily workloads and support the business.
    • Supervise and Collaborate with Transport execution team to solve issues / lack of transport capacity constrains
    • Monitor system generated exception/error reports and take action as necessary to correct issues
    • Work with Warehousing/Manufacturing to develop periodization rules for loads to minimize delays on loads & improve loading process
    • Allocate accessorial costs in tools to ensure correct costing and simplify matching & reporting processes
    • Produce/review various performance reports to drive results.
    • Support tender process negotiations to minimize transport costs and maximize service levels
    • Supervise Execution Team within Org to complete all transport execution functions which includes getting vehicles to load and deliver on time and making operation changes to plan to ensure deliveries on time.
    • Freight Auction – Ensure planners are utilizing transport services from preferred suppliers on PepsiCo Book according to contracted rates
    • Manage overall allocations across contracted suppliers via the “share of business model” utilized by Planners
    • Ensure planners secure transport resources via the carrier tender acceptance process
    • Supervisors Transport Schedule conducting similar routing exercise with few variables (own fleet and predetermined routes)
    • Supervisors Execution Team (expeditors) to ensure loads are completed on time and all exceptions managed according to SOP.
    • Develop Operations Transport Budgets at lane level using historical transport data, sales growth, inflation procurement efficiencies and other influencing factors.
    • Sign off and implement transport budgets to ensure transport rates aligned
    • Measure and identify any deviations to actuals against budget
    • Develop and implement corrective actions for any deviations to budgets
    • Provide feedback on performance in weekly Budget review sessions

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • 3 Year Tertiary Quaification
    • Fluent in English
    • Understanding of transportation optimization technology
    • 5 + years of transportation experience o Understanding of carrier operations o Good computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
    • Understanding of Ordering systems
    • Experience in consumer package goods industry
    • Analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communications skills
