Technician - NRL Genetics - Centurion at Ampath

Purpose of Position:

• To process blood, bone marrow and tissue specimens according to the set criteria and standards on all benches in the genetics laboratory.

Requirements:

• Grade 12  (Required), HPCSA registration as a Technician (Haematology / Clinical Pathology)  (Required), National Certificate: Medical Technician  (Required)

Required Experience:

• 18 months experience in a Haematology Laboratory, 6 months to 1-year experience in the Genetics Laboratory, Knowledge: HPCSA regulations, Knowledge: Meditech system, Knowledge: Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA)

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath., Perform administrative tasks in order to ensure effective administration systems in the laboratory, Perform stock control tasks to ensure effective monitoring of stock usage and availability., Process specimens in order to ensure effective and efficient specimen flow in the laboratory., Train new employees in order to ensure continuous development and education.
