    Team Leader - Umbogintwini

    Job Description    

    • Responsible and accountable for the effective leadership of the production team
    • Responsible for all managerial functions including maintaining discipline and enabling the development of all production employees.
    • Drive daily goal alignment meetings and engagements with Operators
    • Manage the entire production process – Cleaning of Containers, Manufacturing of Batches, Packing & Repacking of Products.
    • Manage and direct activities with a focus on creating a safe working environment through a zero-tolerance approach to unsafe practices and adherence to manufacturing best practices
    • Ensure appropriate documentation is available for batch start up e.g. work plans, log process and SOP’s to execute the plan on time and in full.
    • Keep production management, other Team leaders and inter departmental personnel informed of the status of the plant and any significant process or problems to avoid disruption and ensure smooth operation of the plant.
    • Responsible for implementing world class manufacturing practices in keeping with creating a continuous improvement culture.
    • Update and draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
    • Efficient control over utility and raw material usage to prevent wastage.
    • Sign off work plans, logs, miscellaneous and records accurately
    • Assume OHS Act responsibility for the factory – Legal Appointment.
    • Lead incident investigation
    • Administration and Execution of Permit to work to ensure that hazards and precautions are defined.
    • Ensure that all SHEQ standards are maintained
    • Ensure precise shift handover at the end of the shift. 

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • Matric
    • National Diploma in Operations Management or Chemical Engineering
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in chemical production environment
    • Knowledge of safety, quality and environmental best practices and management systems
    • Computer literacy
