    Taxation (REF NO: AEF11 /2023)

    Academic Leaders will provide teaching and learning as well as research leadership in the specified discipline in the school and will also line-manage academic staff members.
    They will perform tasks in line with the requirements and provisions as set out in the job description.
    Those appointed to the AL position should have experience working as part of a team mand must be able to demonstrate effectiveness in such a role.

    This involves the ability to allocate work and ensure that key tasks are carried out; manage staff performance;

    • to chair and/or participate in meetings and committees;
    • assist in resolving student matters;
    • to promote research within the discipline;
    • to initiate changes to existing programs/development of new programs;
    • to advise and assist colleagues; and
    • to work effectively with professional services staff.
    • The incumbents will report to the Dean and Head of School.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Doctoral degree or evidence of having successfully completed the degree
    • Currently appointed at the level of Senior Lecturer or higher.

    Please note: the above minimum requirements are for a three-year term of office. Staff
    who do not meet the minimum requirements but have a Masters's qualification or higher
    may be considered for a one-year acting appointment.
