Tax Consultant (Bloemfontein) at Forvis Mazars Group

Job Description    

• To carry out high level researchrelating to a variety of tax issues (covering the full spectrum of taxes) and to compile appropriate reports/opinions/letters and other documents under the overall responsibility of the senior team members or partners; and to review reports/opinions/letters and other documents prepared by tax advisors. 
• This will involve research, consulting and tax advice, tax calculations and reconciliations, tax administration and dispute resolution, tax compliance, budget management in respect of client engagements, manage risk management procedures, manage individual productivity, articles and other client communication material and training and development. 

Duties and Responsibilities    

• Conduct research on various tax issues
• Prepare tax-related reports/opinions/letters
• Perform tax calculations and reconciliations
• Assist with Tax compliance
• Manage budget for client engagements
• Assist with risk management procedures
• Write articles and other client communications material

Minimum Requirements    

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years high level tax consulting / research experience; or 3 years audit article experience with 1 year post high level tax consulting experience. 
• Qualifications / Education: Accounting or law degree plus tax qualification(s), CA(SA) and/or completed SAICA articles plus tax qualification(s), Advance Tax qualifications  (Masters) will be an advantage
