    Supply Chain Project Engineer - Cape Town

    • By taking on this opportunity, you will play a significant role within the business by acting as the interface between the Business, Service Providers, Pepkor IT and other  suppliers, the vehicle through which optimal business processes and underlying system functionality is developed in order to execute business strategy , strategic projects and Supply Chain Continious Improvement Initiatives.

    Qualifications    
    QUALIFICATIONS
    Essential:

    • Degree/Diploma in Logistics, Industrial Engineering or similar

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience    
    JOB RELATED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
    KNOWLEDGE required:

    • Project management Life Cycle (DMAIC or similar)
    • SCOR or similar supply chain standardisation
    • Continuous improvement (Benchmarking, 5S, 6 Sigma etc.)
    • Network Modeling
    • Transport Networks and Freight Management
    • Financial techniques and modelling
    • Developing Project proposals and solutions
    • Supply Chain management – Inbound and Outbound logistics, Warehousing and Distribution
    • Method and time studies
    • Change management
    • Knowledge of Inventory Management systems, ERP systems and planning systems 
    • Thorough knowledge of the working of WMS system

    SKILLS required:

    • Communication and networking
    • Network modelling
    • Data analysis and assessment
    • Time management
    • Process improvement
    • Attention to detail
    • Practical thinking
    • Project management
    • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio, Project)
    • AutoCAD, Solid Works or similar
    • Presentations
    • Influencing skills
    • Analytical skills

    EXPERIENCE required:
    Essential:

    • Relevant Degree in Engineering/Supply Chain

    Preferred:

    • Certified in Continuous Improvement (e.g. 6 Sigma, SCOR, LEAN)
    •  Project Management Certification
    •  Certificate in Business Modelling
    • Supply Chain or Retail experience

    Key Responsibilities    
    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Identify, develop and implement Supply Chain initiatives to support Strategic outcomes

    Continuous Improvements:

    • DC Operational processes
    • Inbound Planning
    • Supply Streams
    •  Online Commerce
    • Outbound Transport
    • Analysis of stakeholder compliance in relation to suppliers, inbound balancing and outbound Supply Chain
    • Report writing and development
    •  CAPEX and Project Budget Management
    • Transport network optimisation
