    Supplier Relationship Management Consultant

    Brief Description        

    • The main purpose of this position is to manage supplier relationships and performance for an allocated portfolio on behalf of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) and its subsidiaries, in order to embed a resilient supply chain.

    Detailed Description        
    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

    • Implement the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program for all suppliers segmented as strategic or critical to the SARB.
    • Implement a framework to monitor, manage and report on supplier risk to ensure business continuity for the SARB.
    • Work closely with relevant stakeholders in the ongoing measurement of the performance of suppliers that form part of the SRM program and implement performance controls where required.
    • Work closely with business to identify the critical and strategic suppliers.
    • Take responsibility for the onboarding and off-boarding process of the critical and strategic suppliers.
    • Maintain the restricted supplier database and alert relevant stakeholders thereof to mitigate reputational risk.
    • Conduct supplier risk assessments on identified suppliers and supplier risk themes.
    • Analyse relevant supplier information and provide reports as well as recommendations for SRM improvement.
    • Collaborate with strategic suppliers to identify innovation opportunities and enable continuous improvement for a more effective and efficient supply chain.
    • Facilitate and manage the resolution process relating to the performance of suppliers that are outside of the SRM program, where appropriate.
    • Manage relationships and participate in internal and external stakeholder engagements.
    • Keep abreast of developments in the procurement field and propose improvements to methods and practices in procurement.

    Job Requirements        
    To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:

    • a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Legal or an equivalent NQF 7 qualification;
    • five to eight years’ working experience in procurement or supply chain management environment or risk management environment; of which at least two years should relate to experience in managing strategic supplier relationships.
