Supervisor Control Room - Mokopane at Murray & Roberts

Introduction

• Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Supervisor Control Room to be placed at Ivan Plats Platreef mine, in Mokopane, Limpopo. The successful candidate will report to the General Engineering Supervisor. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.

Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

•        Knowledge of mechanised mining systems and SCADA software [Mine specific requirement]
•        Sound understanding of trackless mining and machinery, conveyor belt and shaft systems [Mine specific requirement]
•        Applying expertise and technology
•        Ability to supervise a team
•        Deciding and initiating action within agreed parameters
•        Planning and organising
•        Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•        Ability to communicate clearly over radio systems
•        Ability to work with people at all levels
•        Attention to detail
•        Adhering to principles and values
•        Ability to work under pressure
•        Following procedures and instructions

Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

•        Grade 12 or NQF level 4 equivalent
•        Blasting Certificate.
•        Valid Medical certificate of Fitness
•        Covid-19 Coronavirus Vaccination Certificate [Site Specific]
•        Shift Supervisor Certificate / Foreman's Certificate 
•        Proficient in MS packages (Projects, Excel, PowerPoint and Word) –
•        Proficient in SCADA Mining Software systems related to control systems [Advantageous]
•        Good verbal and written English communication skills

 
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

• At least 5 years of experience working as a Shift Supervisor
• Engineering Foreman
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in a control room
