JOB DESCRIPTION

• Task Complexity: (key performance areas that are essential to this position)

Operational Excellence

• Maintain and Support the Core Networks elements including Cloud and Virtualization infrastructure (SGSN, GGSN, DNS, MME, SGW, PGW, PCG/PCC, vMSE, IWF etc.) in a multi-vendor environment e.g., Ericsson, Huawei, Cisco etc.
• To effectively resolve trouble tickets and identify root cause to prevent a recurrence.
• To provide Tier2 support to internal business units as per defined process and OLA.
• Fault management and end-to-end analysis and troubleshooting across all Packet Core elements and peripheral systems.
• Responsible for OEM technical engagement and investigation
• Ensure vendors are meeting their SLA with MTN
• Ad hoc onsite support required to network elements.
• Co-Design and implement the Core Network elements to support the business objectives of MTN.
• Define and design scheduled proactive maintenance programmes.
• Comply to stringent Change management processes for afterhours planned activities and/or fault correction.
• Ensure comprehensive configuration tests and acceptance procedures are carried out to ensure full compatibility and maintain network performance during the integration of new and upgrades. 
• Communicate design problems and provide input to the respective Engineering teams.
• Communicate and debrief network issues with management and key stakeholders.
• Respond to alarming and/or deviation on KPI trends as per prescribed SLA.
• Ensure systems are meeting network SLAs.
• Ensure end-to-end integration is successful.
• Performance Management of all areas of responsibility
• Ensure documentation is relevant and kept up to date.
• Liaise with 3rd party vendors for network integration in terms of planning and design.
• Supervisory / Leadership / Managerial Complexity:  Manage all own projects to completion.
• Team Lead Junior Engineers
• Mentoring new/junior IP engineers
• Role Complexity: Influences other areas or departments from a senior technical viewpoint.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:  

• Minimum of 3 year degree/diploma in Electronic Engineering
• Technical Training in the appropriate areas
• Fluent in English and language of country preferable
• CCNP/CCIP certifications advantageous 

Experience: 

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Packet Core
• Experience in Linux, IP, and Networking.
• Scripting knowledge (Linux, Python, Ansible, etc.)
• Experience working in a multi-vendor organization.
