    Specialist: Access Network

    Job Description

    Role purpose:

    Ensure effective detection, diagnosis, and management of incidents for Radio & Transport Access Network.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • To provide level 2 technical support to the network monitoring team.
    • To plan, deploy, and maintain NOC automation.
    • To diagnose and resolve faults remotely.
    • To apply network management tools effectively toward fault diagnosis and resolution.
    • To notify and escalate major incidents as per the fault handling and escalations procedures.
    • To liaise with internal and external support teams toward fault resolution.
    • To continually evaluate and improve existing processes and systems.
    • To analyze and report on routine and ad hoc investigations.
    • To keep up to date with network changes and evolving network architecture.
    • To display awareness of various functional areas and key support personnel.

    Ideally you should possess the following:

    • Matric/Grade 12 is essential.
    • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 3 years experience in Telecommunications / IT or/ Data Analytic relevant courses with 5 years experience. 
    • RAN or/and Transmission services are essential. 
    • ITIL Base foundation /Network Management (Event and Incident) experience will serve as an advantage.

    Job Knowledge: 

    • GSM, UMTS, LTE knowledge. 
    • Access Network systems.
    • Access Networks and Services. 
    • Network Management processes and principles.
    • Service and Delivery  Management.

    Job-Related Skills:

    • Network management.
    • Telecoms technology.
    • Machine Learning (ML) / Artificial Intelligence(AI).
    • Data Analytics and insights.
    • Robotic Process Automation(RPA).
    • Networking essentials.
    • Event and Incident data analysis is essential.
