    Snr Electrical Engineer

    Short Description / Purpose of Job

     Manage and / or execute the design, engineering, development and modification of complex and / or specialised electrical systems (typically Tier 1 or a programme of projects) in accordance with established engineering principles and standards to satisfy business requirements.Manage and guide subordinates, providing technical direction to several smaller projects. Comfortable working with limited or no structure (ie. creates own direction).

    Specialist or broad base of electrical engineering knowledge and competence in particular relating to electrical network planning/design and process plants.
    Comprehensive knowledge of the project execution model.Detailed knowledge in defined fields of electrical engineering (e.g. electrical network modelling & analysis, selection of equipment for use in hazardous areas, transformers, switchgear, motors,
        VSDs, protection, etc.). Ability to formulate and execute (manage and do) the electrical engineering scope for large multidisciplinary projects (i.e. Tier 1).
     

    Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

    1.  Utilise electrical engineering systems, tools and standards (own, local and international) in own work and projects
    2. Create, develop and update electrical engineering systems, tools and standards.
    3. Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
    4. Active practising of interpersonal skills required for productive working relationships and to work with, or through, others inside and/or outside (including suppliers) the organisation to get work accomplished. 
    5. Critical to this role are influencing, negotiating, maturity and emotional intelligence.

    7. Fosters teamwork and collaboration.
    8. Provide input concerning best practices, lessons learnt and training to the Standards & Practices, Electrical Engineering. Tools and standards and workflows.
    9. Develop Technical execution strategies including licensing, in-house technology development and appropriate use of ECs.
    10. Drive the development of and manage the engineering execution plan with respect to electrical engineering including management of own subordinates.
    11. Coach and guide less experienced engineers. Functional delivery and contributions.
    12. World class quality deliverables based on agreed to electrical engineering track quality plan.
    13. Sign-off of critical deliverables. Compliance to environmental, safety and legal specifications.
    14. Application and in-depth understanding of technical processes core to Sasol's competitiveness and advantage or in engineering conceptualisation and commercialisation.
    15. Knowledge of applicable engineering technologies/Technical acumen and technical integration

    Formal Education

    University Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Electrical

    Min Experience

      8+ years in the field of electrical engineering
