    Site and Operations Manager: Repair Centre

    Purpose of the Job:

    It is to direct, lead and manage TSSSA Midrand site operations for all activities and resources in the repair centre to meet SQCD. The successful candidate will be based in Randjespark, Midrand.

    Manage the site to ensure adherence to safety and security policies.

    The role reports to the Projects industrial manager with dotted lines to the head of services/SOE during the setup of and stability reached.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • BSc/Btech in Mechanical or Electrical or Industrial Engineering
    • A Minimum qualification of NQF 4 in Management/Leadership
    • 3-5 year’s experience in production/operations management ( Site & Facilities management an extra advantage)
    • 5 years of experience in the Transport, Automobile, Heavy Machinery, Industrial, Manufacturing or Maintenance Technology industry
    • 5 years relevant people management experience preferably gained in a lean manufacturing environment

    Responsibilities:

    • Successfully implementing company policy and developing strategic plans in the site
    • Deliver financial performance by respecting the budget and maintaining an effective management team
    • Act as the Legal Representative (including the management and control) of the site
    • Deliver on SQCD as per the site operational plans and Industrial means targets to ensure customer (internal & external) satisfaction
    • Manage maintenance / services contracts execution
    • Represents TSSSA at local site level as per the lease agreement
    • Manage Workload in line with Depot / Regional Centre Workload strategy
    • Provides guidance for workers as needed and approves training opportunities
    • Identifies core competencies and defines operational goals
    • Ensure safety and security co-ordination for Gibela employees, assets and data in the site.
    • Ensure that the Ethics & Compliance policy is applied on the site in respect of all business transactions and of personal integrity
    • Ensures Site cohesion, constructive Social relations, compliance with EHS regulations
    • Implement and ensure right application of Site Quality Management System
    • Ensure that Site Standard Processes are deployed
    • Ensure that Site global strategy & action plans are deployed and applied
    • In charge of managing workshop managers, as well as warehouse, planning and industrial quality support activities in order to reach all the SQCD targets, by identifying & driving progress action plans on SQCD  results
    • Improve safety results by promoting solving issues on safety topics and ensuring that production standards are well applied

    Measurements:

    • EHS KPIs (IFR1, IFR2)
    • Operational performance measured through QCD, EHS KPI, action plans leaded & Performance increase as Lean manufacturing system roadmap.
    • Finance (POH, cash, cost centre budget and respect of actuals)
    • Compliance Process, legal & Social Responsibility (industrial relations, ethics & compliance,
    • During the first years, till stabilise workload, support the ramp-up of the activities through :
    • Controlling the progress of the refurbishment and upgrade of the concerned workshops
    • Participating into the installation of repair workshops, warehouses
    • Recruiting the work force, supervisors and managers of the workshop
    • Structuring routine and organisation on his site (instances, town-down & bottom-up management aspects).
    • Build with Industrialization and Technology Transfer managers the training and ToT program
    • Lead the ramp-up of the production under his scope
