    Shift Coordinator / Quality Controller

    Key Requirements

    • Matric/ Grade 12 (N- courses will be advantageous or Quality Controller certificate / Diploma)
    • Experience within the Casting Department will be advantageous.

     Key Competencies:

    • Ability to train and transfer skills.
    • Management of production yield.
    • Manage tools, and control quality from machines, processes, and people.
    • Excellent communication skills Verbal and written.
    • Ability to function under pressure and exercise own initiative.
    • Logical reasoning skills and fault-finding experience.
    • Good planning and Organizational Skills.
    • Team Player
    • Confidence, self-managed and Disciplined
    • Attention to details.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Understand and master the operation of an ALS, AVE, AVM, and AOM casting machines (including the process flow of sanitary product from raw material to final product)
    • Understanding the operating principle for the drier and the ambient drying sequence
    • Ensure all Process controllers on your respective machines are trained and declared competent to produce Sanitary products.
    • Ensuring production targets and quality standards are always met.
    • Coordinate working hours, shift work, and leave for Process controllers and keep the hours in line with the BCEA.
    • Enforce discipline within the team under your control.
    • Ensure health and safety principles are always adhered to at the Machines (including the use of PPE and housekeeping)
    • Provide Training and Job Observation for process controllers.
    • Assist in Plant start-up after a power failure, power deep, or major shutdown.
    • Ensure all SOPs are up to date and implemented on the factory floor.
    • Ensure scrap is eliminated at all critical control points in casting.
    • Assist Sanwright in improving equipment uptime.
