    SHERQ Coordinator (Brackenfell)

    Job Advert Summary

    • An opportunity has arisen for a high-caliber SHERQ Coordinator to oversee and liaise with clients on SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) matters, aligning systems with their requirements and protocols.
    • The ideal candidate must have experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining an integrated SHEQ management system.
    • The role involves overseeing and coordinating activities related to safety, health, environment, risk, and quality management within an organization.
    • Responsibilities include ensuring that safety protocols, procedures, and policies are effectively implemented, especially those pertaining to health management programs and environmental aspects.
    • The role also includes the implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and BB Gap, ensuring they are embedded into business processes.
    • The SHERQ Coordinator will develop SHEQ system procedures and template documents, enforce standardization across all sites, and participate in internal and external audits, including logging and tracking audit findings.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Matric/Grade 12 with a relevant SHEQ qualification
    • MS Office experience and proficiency with strong administration skills
    • Sound knowledge of OHASA 18001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 Management Systems, COID Act, relevant Road Traffic legislation, and SANS Standards
    • Leadership qualities with the ability to promote teamwork and cooperation, and create a motivating climate
    • Ability to handle general queries regarding HSE issues within the working environment
    • Capability to work independently under pressure while meeting contract and customer deadlines
    • Understanding of processes related to Accident & Incident investigation, reporting, recording, and application of remedial actions
    • Fairly good knowledge of the Transport Industry will be a definite advantage

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Conduct monthly safety inspections
    • Conduct risk assessments as required
    • Assist the Contract Manager in audit preparation
    • Update SHEQ Notice boards on a monthly basis or as needed
    • Collect and assemble SHEQ statistics for monthly reporting and presentation purposes
    • Perform monthly operations audits to monitor compliance with company policies and procedures
    • Review driver matrix regarding training, medicals, and working and driving hours to ensure company and customer requirements are met
    • Maintain housekeeping standards in accordance with legal, company procedures, and contract requirements
    • Monitor customers' SHEQ performance measurements and requirements
    • Ensure that required SHEQ training is maintained and aligned with customer requirements, in conjunction with the Training Department
    • Conduct toolbox talks and safety stand-downs
    • Manage DriveCam coaching and reporting
