Senior Systems/Network Administrator at Cape Union Mart

Responsibilities:

• Provide support across organizational server and network infrastructure.
• Perform server and network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
• Monitor performance and ensure server and network availability and reliability.
• User permissions and administration for all applications and service
• Installing, configuring and maintain servers and networks
• Ensure that all equipment is fully functional and update documentation as required.
• Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the server and network infrastructure.
• Conduct regular tests to validate the effectiveness of backup and recovery processes.
• Adhere to company and department policies & procedures
• After hours standby on a rotational basis
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical support and resolve escalated issues.
• Mentor and train team members to enhance overall team capabilities.

Requirements:

• Tertiary or related IT qualification (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, CompTIA Network+)
• Proven experience as a Systems and Network Administrator in enterprise-level environments.
• Strong expertise in managing Windows server environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• A good understanding of computer hardware and terminology
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to liaise with all levels of the organisation
• Ability to problem solve and prioritise issues
• A self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage the demands of a pressurized work environment
