Senior Specialist: Reporting at Liberty Group South Africa

Purpose

• To prepare pertinent reporting information for all stakeholders of the business for informed decision making and to support the business.

Minimum Experience

• 3 - 5 years' experience in a similar environment, of which 1 -2 years at a junior specialist level

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of Bachelors Degree in finance/Accounting is a prerequisite
• CIMA or CA advantageous

Process

• Verify, evaluate and report on operational and managerial processes, systems and outcomes to ensure financial and operational integrity and compliance.
• Coordinate research and information gathering activities and collate and analyse information to serve as input to managerial reporting or decision making.
• Analyse and develop recommendations from data and business analyses and formulate them into business plans.
• Gather data and produce reports to evaluate capacity and identify areas where improvements can be implemented.
• Apply knowledge of products, techniques and related organisational processes to provide advice and expertise in an area of specialisation.
• Assist with the monitoring of the future regulatory and legislative environment whilst providing advice on existing regulatory issues.
• Accountable for the improvement of quality, service and work outputs, continuously recommending improvements.
• Plan for the organisation of work outputs and process improvement activities in light of a specific situational context related to the area of specialisation.
• Proactively identify area of specialisation related problems, determine cause and effect and recommend the best option to implement corrective action based on previous experience.

• Provide specialist expertise and advice to internal/external customers, that builds strong relationships and creates a favourable impression aligned to Treating the Customer Fairly (TCF) principles.

Finance

• Adhere to financial controls, governance and compliance policies and processes throughout an area of specialisation, contributing to cost efficiency.
