Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack at Old Mutual South Africa

Job Description

We are looking for a Full Stack Developer to produce scalable software solutions who will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment.

As a Full Stack Developer, you should be comfortable with front-end and back-end coding languages, development frameworks, and third-party libraries.

You should also be a team player with a knack for visual design and utility.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Work with the development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions

• Design client-side and server-side architecture
• Build the front-end of applications through appealing visual design
• Write effective APIs
• Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
• Build features and applications with responsive designs
• Write technical documentation
• Work with analysts to improve software

Role Requirements And Personal Qualities

• 5- 8 years + web application development experience using the ASP.NET framework
• Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies
• Experience developing web applications.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies, frameworks and libraries
• Advanced knowledge of C# programming language.
• Familiarity with databases web servers
• Experience with common version control systems such as Git
• Good communicator at multiple levels and across multiple disciplines
• Team Player, able to provide input into a multifunctional team
• Self-motivated, capable of working with limited supervision, pro-actively reporting on status and tasks
• Adaptable.
• The role requires a willingness to take on tasks outside of a narrowly defined role, and ideally a desire to be multi-skilled
• Capable of working to both tactical and strategic time-scales
• Great attention to detail
