JOB REQUIREMENTS

SENIOR LECTURER

• Doctoral degree in Nursing with at least 5 years teaching experience at tertiary institution, or 7 years professional experience in the relevant field
• Nursing Education 
• Primary health care (clinical assessment, treatment, and care)
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nurse Educator is compulsory.
• Registration with SANC as a primary health care nurse
• At least 5 publications in accredited, peer reviewed journals, Chapters in a book and book publication
• Evidence of supervision of five postgraduate students at Honours level
• Evidence of supervision of Master or Doctoral students

LECTURER

• Master's degree in nursing with at least 3 years teaching experience at tertiary institution, or 5 years professional experience in the relevant field
• Nursing Education 
• Primary health care (clinical assessment, treatment, and care)
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nurse Educator is compulsory.
• Registration with SANC as a primary health care nurse

JUNIOR LECTURER

• Honours degree in Nursing 
• Nursing Education 
• Primary health care (clinical assessment, treatment, and care)
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nurse Educator is compulsory.
• Registration with SANC as a primary health care nurse

DUTIES

• The successful candidate will accept responsibility for teaching Primary health care theory and practice to undergraduate students.
• To accompany students in Primary health care settings.
• To conduct, assess, plan, and implement lifestyle adjustments/management according to the specific health needs of clients.
• Supervise and Co-supervision of undergraduate research projects.
• Supervise and Co-supervision of postgraduates’ research (master’s and PhD)
•  Conducting original research, publishing findings in academic journals, presenting at conferences, and contributing to the advancement of their field.
• Engaging with professional communities, collaborating with industry partners, and contributing to public outreach and community engagement initiatives.
