Senior Group Accountant CA (SA) - Johannesburg at AVI Limited

Key Performance Areas:

• Consolidation of the Group preliminary results on a monthly basis;
• Consolidation of the Group budget and forecast on an annual and quarterly basis;
• Coordinate and run AVI’s management information processes, including monthly and quarterly reporting cycles covering actual, forecast and budgeted results, and consolidating and analysing this information as part of each reporting cycle;
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly reporting to the Board;
• Assist with the preparation of the analyst presentation for the AVI interim and year end results release;
• Preparation of corporate accounting entries, including PRMA and share scheme accounting;
• Manage the bi-annual process of assessing the Group’s investments and intangible assets for impairment;
• Dealing with numerous ad hoc information and analysis queries;
• Assistance with various AVI Group finance projects; and
• Business owner of the AVI Group Essbase reporting tool. 

Minimum Requirements:

Experience:                                                                   

• Completion of articles at one of the Big Four auditing firms
• Up to 2 years post articles experience, which includes consolidation of group results an advantage
• Proven experience in running a budget and forecast process
• Previous experience on Essbase or related reporting platform would be an advantage 

Qualifications:

• Qualified CA (SA) 

Additional Requirements:

• Knowledge of operational finance and management accounting principles
• Strong technical reporting ability with up-to-date knowledge of international financial reporting standards
• Proven commercial and business acumen is essential in order to compile reports at a high standard as required by the AVI Board and investor community
• Advanced computer skills (Excel)
