Senior Foreman Engineering (Mechanical ) at Murray & Roberts

Introduction

• Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Senior Foreman Engineering, to be placed in Venetia Mine. The successful candidate will report to the General Engineering Foreman. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.

Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

•        Effective leadership, supervision, performance management and development of TMM rebuilding teams
•        Provide management services relating to the maintanace & machinery used at MRC’ site as well as construction work.
•        Build in a respectful way, keep work teams motivated and committed to completing tasks to high standards, exceed job targets and client expectations
•        Maintain a high standard of good housekeeping
•        Proactive risk identification and mitigation in line with safety regulations and M&RC's standards, policies andprocedures
•        Effective team and self-management in alignment with M&RC's values

Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

•        Grade 12 or equivalent academic/technical qualification
•        Section 26 Recognised Trade certificate (Fitter/Diesel Mechanic/Millwright etc)
•        Formal Supervisory training certification at Foreman level in Planning, Leading, Organising and Control
•        MS Office proficient (Word,Excel)
•        Have passion for mobile equipment and its technologies
•        Good Leadership, coaching amd interpersonal skills
•        Detailed technical knowledge of mobile equipment maintenance and repair of specific makes and models of equipment (makes and models to be supplied with application)
•        Valid EB Driver's licence 

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

•       At least 5 years' "on-the-tools" experience in troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining underground mobile earth moving equipment, preferably underground construction mining equipment
•       At least 2 years of the 5 years in a senior artisan/chargehand position "on-the-tools" supervisory position in Mining/Construction.
•       At least 5 years as an appointed Foreman supervising Artisans and technicians maintaining and repairing mobile equipment
•      At least 2 years of on-the-job experience responsible for job planning, costing and quality paperwork record
•      OEM training on mobile equipment – training certificate to be submitted with application
