    Senior Digital Solutions Analyst

    Requirements

    REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Programming, Computer Science, or Information Technology
    • ITIL V4 Foundation or higher (an advantage)
    • Project management qualification e.g. Agile an advantage

    MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    • Experience in System Development Life Cycle ie business process analysis, requirements gathering, solution design and development, vendor management, systems integrations and a strong business understanding
    • Experience of financial concepts and practices
    • Experience in AFGRI business model

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Assess and anticipate technology projects and recommend appropriate actions with regard to the roadmap
    • Keep roadmap continuously updated and aligned to business and IT strategies
    • Actively participate in design/review sessions
    • Perform research and analysis on new technology and best practice business processes within the application team and area of expertise
    • Responsible for acquiring relevant business domain knowledge and keeping in-step with an evolving business model
    • Manage, support and monitor all application areas assigned to you
    • Facilitate and where applicable execute analysis of business requirements, identifying and proposing to business the most appropriate solutions according to best practice and software standards as defined by AFGRI IT
    • Define requirements, identify solutions to fulfil requirements and resolve issues by means of a business case or product comparison or any other means suitable to the problem at hand as and when required
    • Actively participate in deploying new/existing functionality already available in applications that will add value to the business
    • Constructively use new technology as it becomes available in AFGRI and in so doing demonstrate a trust in the technology to business
    • Provide comprehensive training and training documentation as agreed per change request or project also enforcing a 'train the trainer approach'
    • Drive, monitor and report on continuous improvement in the AFGRI IT environment to ensure improved customer experience, reliability and stability of the environment

    TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/COMPETENCIES

    • Business process knowledge including the ability to document these processes
    • Strong Team Lead / Management background important
    • Strong MS Office
    • Sound knowledge of the industry
    • Demonstrated skill in managing the development of optimal business systems.
    • Ability to communicate concepts in a concise and eloquent form to management and to cross-functional departments or teams verbally, in writing, d through pictures or diagrams when appropriate
    • Knowledge of new technologies (in relevant field), maintain and stay abreast of updates and changes and make the appropriate recommendations
    • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment for self and teams
    • Excellent ability and knowledge to direct staff in integrating information technology services with the work requirements and deliverables as determined by IT and business
    • Excellent experience of informational technology disciplines, e.g., system design, development, implementation, software applications and integrations, production operations, quality assurance and systems management, user support principles and practices, eg Software Development Life Cycle
    • Excellent experience in optimal management of a multi-vendor environment
    • Excellent experience in consulting and influencing stakeholders as and when required
    • Excellent administration skills
    • Knowledge of Out of the box features for creating webpages, forms, workflows and more are a must.
    • Business process knowledge including the ability to document these processes
    • Ensure effective internal communication on projects
    • Execute projects against Project Management governance and methodology, and as agreed with each stakeholder group
    • Effectively manage the project team resources to achieve the deliverables
    • Act as liaison between business and project members
    • Coordinate outsourced vendors in the performance of project tasks in alignment with the project timelines and deliverables
    • Coordinate project items and follow-up on dependencies and issues
    • Identify potential cost reductions across all areas of IT and drive these cost savings to completion
    • Create and obtain approval for business cases for additional spending with clearly defined value add and a detailed breakdown of costs
    • Ensure accurate budgeting input into IT annual budget and manage subsequent application spend against the approved budget
    • Identify potential risks in all working environments and report to the appropriate forum
    • Active participation in the creation and annual review of relevant policies
    • Ensure that all stakeholders comply to all relevant AFGRI frameworks, policies and procedures
    • Monitor/enforce tight control of all application access controls in line with policy
    • Ensure business approvals are gained for all emergency updates to production
    • Implement or adjust processes to adhere to approved policies
    • Ensure licenses across all applications (where applicable) are correctly allocated and that no excess consumption exists or incorrect allocations.  Also report any possible shortages timeously
    • Ensure Legal Compliance with all relevant legislation and ensure cooperation with all audit teams so as not to cause any unnecessary overruns
    • Resolve all relevant Business Application audit actions within agreed timelines
