    Senior Actuarial Specialist

    Job Advert Summary    

    • Hello…an exciting new opportunity has just become available in our HINT, Actuarial area. We are looking to recruit a Senior Actuarial Specialist.
    • The primary purpose of this role is to perform actuarial valuations for the business written through various countries within Hollard International.

    This includes:

    • Provision of actuarial support to the business
    • Support on actuarial projects; and
    • Support for statutory actuary in meeting regulatory reporting requirements.
    • By performing these tasks, the actuarial specialist contributes to the profitability and effectiveness of the business in the attainment of its objectives.
    • Valuation of policy liabilities and explanation of key profit drivers.
    • Calculation of embedded values.
    • Producing budget projections and providing advice on future strategy.
    • Support on IFRS17 implementation and readiness from an actuarial reporting perspective.
    • Adding value and delivering insights to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Assisting in the preparation of periodic actuarial reporting.
    • Review work of other actuarial resources.
    • All of the above under limited supervision.

    Required Knowledge and Experience    

    • 3 -5 years Life Insurance experienence in a life space , preferrably in Valuations.
    • The ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of people, both internally and externally and across various countries and cultures.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Able to work under pressure in meeting internal and external deadlines.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Commitment to excellence in execution and delivery.
    • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
    • Excellent IT skills (MS Office, SQL Server, Working with large datasets).
    • Ability to work with minimum supervision.

    Educational Requirements    

    • Actuarial or related degree.
    • Significant progress made in actuarial exams.
    • Desire to attain Fellowship qualification.
