Security Controller at DHL

Business Overview:

This is a busy, fast paced operation which offers many challenges and opportunities for the right person. This position is based at Ndlovu Park, Pietermaritzburg.

Key Accountabilities:

• Monitor / implement location security standards and policies in line with DHL and Global Security framework
• Collate details of security incidents and reports them using the approved platform
• Assist in the preparation and completion of security assessments and audits {internal and external}
• Ensure that all tasks and responsibilities are performed as required, actions logged and tracked to full resolution
• Provide general security information, awareness and training to the workforce
• Achieve security policies and standards
• Assess and comply to security standards, including self-assessments
• Promote security awareness through understanding the situation and threats posed
• Comply with any external customer or regulatory body security requirements
• Develop relationships with the local law enforcement
• Assist with the installation / procurement of any technical security equipment for upgrading
• Draft reports and conduct investigations
• Identify areas of concern and provide information required by regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate orientation activities and daily inspections in the operations facilities, grounds and administrative areas, changes in lay-out and installation of new equipment
• Provide direction and support to the Site Management
• Performance Indicators (What criteria will be used to assess the performance of the role holder)
• Maintenance of policies and procedures wrt Security
• Risk / Security identification process
• Comply with Global Minimum Standards

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12 Certificate
• 1 – 2 years’ experience and knowledge locally
