    Rigger (Lichtenburg)

    Minimum Qualification/Experience:

    • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
    • Recognized Rigger certification or trade test.
    • At least 3 years of experience as a Rigger in the cement or construction industry.
    • Proficiency in operating rigging and lifting equipment.
    • Thorough understanding of safety regulations and protocols related to rigging.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and lifting plans.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
    • Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights.
    • Valid South African driver's license.

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Set up and dismantle rigging equipment, including cranes, hoists, and pulleys, according to lifting plans and safety standards.
    • Inspect rigging equipment and machinery to ensure they are in proper working condition and report any defects or maintenance needs.
    • Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to plan and execute lifting operations.
    • Operate rigging equipment to lift, move, and position heavy materials, machinery, and equipment safely and efficiently
    • Ensure that all lifting operations comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
    • Perform load calculations and determine the appropriate rigging gear for specific tasks.
    • Monitor and guide the movement of loads to prevent accidents and damage to materials and equipment.
    • Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments before and during lifting operations.
    • Maintain accurate records of rigging activities, equipment inspections, and maintenance.
    • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and regulatory requirements.
    • The candidates must be medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Company standards for medical fitness.
