    Regional Sales Manager - Inland

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide strategic direction for all products and outlets by setting annual targets and objectives
    • Monitor sales performance and implement corrective measures as needed
    • Build effective sales skills by coaching and mentoring sales staff
    • Grow market share and increase sales
    • Identify additional promotional and sales opportunities within the territory
    • Develop performance-based contracts to monitor staff performance
    • Evaluate promotional activity and monitor ROI Report market intelligence and marketing campaign feedback to head office
    • Manage all POS sign-off with marketing, implementation and promotional compliance
    • Measure effectiveness of POS implementation at key customers
    • Forecast annual operational and capex expenses in line with guidelines
    • Manage costs against approved budget
    • Put in place cost control mechanisms and report on major deviations on cost
    • Report trading expenses and promotions
    • Ensure that staff and sales agents are trained, equipped and motivated through effective staff management processes

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 certificate, preferably coupled with a relevant tertiary qualification
    • 4 years in a FMCG/ retail sales line management position with a proven track record of success
    • Minimum of 3 years sales management experience at sales agency level
    • 2 years RSM/ KAM sales management experience in FMCG, food categories
    • Valid drivers’ license Detailed understanding of sales processes
    • Excellent numerical reasoning, financial acumen and business planning
    • Comprehensive understanding and insights into Category Management principles
    • Understanding of the POS drivers and shopper dynamics
    • Sound product knowledge
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
    • Planning and organising skills, and the ability to consistently deliver results
    • Ability to show initiative and collaborate at all levels
