Raw Materials Buyer at AVI Limited

Job Specification: 

Key Performance Areas:

• Review and update procurement procedures to ensure compliance with company standards
• Submission of the required information for month-end reports
• Using SAP to evaluate material stock on hand quantities and identify requirements to be ordered
• Provide feedback to Accounts Payable on Accounts Payable queries
• Work closely with the Site Scheduler to go through the Production plan
• Ensure availability of sufficient material for production plans and services requested using SAP MRP
• Keep accurate inventory within the agreed target
• Report weekly on the stock value on hand and inventory day’s cover
• Monitor slow-moving materials to optimize order quantities and frequency
• Assist with monthly stock count
• Limiting account queries to prevent late payment of accounts
• Monitoring and compiling sales rates report daily and supplier feedback

Minimum Requirements:

Experience:                                                                   

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar buyer function is required gained within a manufacturing or FMCG environment
• Experience in buying Raw and Packaging and Other Services

Qualifications:

• Completed tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Purchasing required

Additional Requirements:

• SAP experience essential
• Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel)
• Good Knowledge of procurement compliance
