Provincial Project Coordinator at TB HIV Care

Purpose of the position:

• The Project Coordinator will oversee a team of technical experts, such as data analysts, data scientist and database administrators, to support health data integration, management and governance. The incumbent will develop and implement stakeholder engagement plans to create a shared roadmap towards data integration and analytics within the province (i.e. the Implementation of the EC PHDC). The incumbent will work with PDOH stakeholders to facilitate PDOH ownership of activities as well as to ensure strong data governance process are in place and adhered to at all times

Minimum Requirements    

• Higher Degree in Data Management, Statistics, Public Health, Social Sciences, Health Information Sciences or other relevant degree
• Analytical software and programming (SQL, STATA, SPSS, Advanced Excel, Python, R)
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience managing programmes and projects within the health sector. (Three (3) years should be related to health information and data management activities)
• Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and other analytic software preferably Stata, SQL and PowerBI. TIER.net and DHIS knowledge is essential.
• Experience in working with epidemiological measures such as incidence, prevalence, odds, ratios
• Experience in data visualisation and business intelligence (PowerBI, Tableau, other)
• Experiencing in the software application development life-cycle
• Experience in project management
• Ability to communicate in isiXhosa and English or another South African language
• Valid code 08 driver’s licence
• Clear criminal record

Duties and Responsibilities    

• Stewardship of the software Life Cycle Development (SLCD) processes in the data centre
• Set up project plan, steer and monitor project deliverables to achieve project outputs
• Support the deployment of analytic technologies within the province
• Compile monthly and quarterly project progress reports
• Embed strong project management principles and processes across the programme.
• Lead regular programme monitoring/performance meetings
• Draft high quality technical and programme documentation and presentations for dissemination.
• Conduct stakeholder analyses and develop and implement stakeholder engagement plans
• Support the development and running of DOH governance systems and processes
• Managing delivery expectations with both internal and external stakeholders
• Support THC M&E Team with monthly and ad hoc reporting
• Provide Strategic Information support to THC and PDOH
• In collaboration with the HR department, recruit highly skilled technical professionals to support programme activities
