    Project Engineer

    • You are an independent and motivated engineer with a knack for collaborating with various stakeholders. Your knowledge of the South African SSEG environment and technical regulations, coupled with your understanding of procurement processes, sets you apart in the field.     What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

    • In this role, you will be at the forefront of designing grid-connected solar photovoltaic plants, performing yield and shading analysis, and optimizing solar plant layouts. You’ll compile estimates and bids, including design approaches, costing, and technical descriptions. Your responsibilities will also include O&M activities, site assessments, and product research. You’ll work closely with the technical team to assess project opportunities and develop engineering aspects, co-ordinate site studies, and establish provisional costings. Additionally, you will liaise with EPCs to ensure quality assurance, develop project schedules, manage supplier databases, and create detailed enquiry and tender documentation. Your role is pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of solar projects, from initial concept to completion.

    What you’ll need

    • To excel in this role, you should have a completed BEng/BSc/BTech in Electrical Engineering, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in solar projects. Being a ECSA registered Professional Engineer is advantageous. You must be capable of working independently and have strong collaboration skills. Knowledge of BESS will be a bonus. Your technical acumen, combined with your understanding of procurement and regulatory standards, will be critical to your success in this position
