Project Engineer: Reman at Komatsu Mining

Description

• Komatsu South Africa is seeking a qualified mechanical/electrical/industrial engineer to join our Remanufacturing Division for Komatsu Africa Holdings based in Germiston. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

• BSc/BEng Mechanical/ Electrical/ Industrial engineering essential
• Certificate in Project Management advantageous

EXPERIENCE:

3 years post graduate experience 

• Asset Management experience would be beneficial
• Project management experience
• Process Optimisation

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

• Firm grasp of engineering fundamental principles (Essential)
• Compilation of data extraction & reporting (such as reliability analysis & improvement action plan establishment experience)
• ISO experience & knowledge, Kaizen methodologies
• Cost analysis and feasibility studies
• Strategic engineering input for the planning and execution of projects

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

• Making recommendations or implementing changes to comply with legislation.
• Leading the team on SHEQ, reviewing the design, facilitating implementation, and maintaining the Management System
• Coordinates/Participates in training programs or other media which will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness
• Plans continuous improvement projects – one time project-based assignments
• Executes project management tasks
• Updating project plans as project rolls-out 
• Engaging with Production & Reman Division (KLTD) on all project planning activities and roll-out
• Compiling/updating manuals/procedures and other relevant documentation
• Remains abreast of technical development, tools & best practice in the field of mechanical engineering / management / equipment maintenance / reliability engineering / of industrial engineering/ manufacturing/systems
• Leads/coordinates/supports & executes improvement projects/project teams/project initiatives aiming for INTERNAL Process, Systems & Infrastructure improvement, and loss elimination
• Provides value add services to INTERNAL operations customers, e.g., conduct site investigations, technology studies focussing on production cost initiatives in, for example, increasing the reuse of component parts.
