    Professional Nurse X 6 (Roving) - Makhado

    Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

    • Collaborate with our team of Professional Nurse Mentors to bridge gaps in TB services at facilities.
    • Supervise and guide the efforts of Community Enrolled Nurses and Community Healthcare Workers, emphasising TB Contact management, patient linkage, home visits, and community TPT care.
    • Facilitate training sessions focused on TB and HIV, with goals of enhancing clinical and managerial outcomes, and improving TB treatment results.
    • Assess TB treatment facilities to pinpoint areas of improvement, devising actionable Quality Improvement Plans.
    • Champion TB services, notably in Pediatric TB, TPT/contact management, and IPC/FAST domains.
    • Handle technical facets like TB Mortality Audits, Cohort Reviews, and Clinical Audits.
    • Collaborate with our Program and DOH colleagues, promoting activities such as TB screening and TUTT/LF-LAM protocols.
    • Advocate for the seamless integration of TB and HIV services.
    • Participate in dynamic project management activities, keeping in sync with evolving project needs.
    • Align with THINK's strategic objectives and adhere to funder specifications.
    • Submit regular data reports.
    • Offer expertise and guidance in rolling out the TB Program at healthcare facilities and community outreaches.
    • Oversee weekly facility meetings and offer on-site support during patient consultations.
    • Manage the FAST initiative and LF-LAM testing processes.
    • Identify and address TB and HIV training needs, advocating for a patient-focused care environment.
    • Build and maintain relationships between health facilities, referral institutions, and community entities.
    • Partner with NGOs/CBOs, ensuring continuity in TB, HIV, and NCD treatment trajectories.
    • Deliver services to neighbouring communities, continually liaising with district officers and TB Technical Managers.
    • Engage in staff recruitment and training endeavors.
    • Foster training and development of service providers, representing the project at pertinent conferences/meetings.
    • Commit to professional growth by attending relevant training programs.


    Requirements:

    • A Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
    • Must be registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
    • Completion of Basic TB Management training.
    • Minimum of 2 years experience in managing TB patients within Department of Health (DOH) facilities.
    • Proven track record in program planning, evaluation, and hands-on implementation of both clinical and community-based TB care.
    • Demonstrated experience in providing health worker training, encompassing areas like coaching, mentoring, and team building.
    • Experience in collaborating within the NGO sector, showcasing adaptability and understanding of its unique dynamics and challenges.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Valid drivers license.
