    Product Owner (Software)

    Minimum Requirements

    Requirements 

    • Appropriate degree (e.g. IT or Engineering)
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a software product-focused role in financial services.  You should be familiar with creating product requirements documents, managing stakeholder expectations, UX, and taking ownership of the product’s success.
    • Minimum of 3 years SQL experience
    • Experience with product management tools
    • Proven track record of successfully delivering and managing complex products
    • Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements
    • A concern for order, quality and accuracy. A meticulous approach to work.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Passion for building products that solve real user problems and deliver exceptional value.
    • Passion for Africa and willingness to work in the developing world context 
    • Ability to travel across Africa

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Responsibilities 

    • Understand the software product value proposition in the business and market.
    • Define and communicate the software product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with business goals
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and prioritise product requirements, ensuring they are documented and clearly communicated to the development team.
    • Lead the product development process, from ideation to launch, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
    • Work with teams across the organsiation to ensure user adoption.
    • Work across internal teams to ensure alignment in goals and ensure that dependencies are known, and work is followed through for delivery.
    • Prioritise and manage the product backlog, making informed decisions on prioritisation and trade-offs.
    • Define and monitor key performance indicators to measure the success of products and adoption thereof.
    • Track trends and usage of the product and use this information to contribute to the product roadmap, in order to meet needs and solve pain-points.
    • Drive continuous improvement of products.  
    • Define, prioritise and deliver product changes.
    • Perform root cause analysis on issues experienced and drive solutions to resolve them.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for all product-related matters, providing clear and effective communication to all stakeholders.
    • Stay up to date with market trends and competitor offerings.
