Procurement Manager Raw Materials at AVI Limited

• The purpose of the role is sourcing a portfolio of raw materials, pursuing the lowest Total Cost of Ownership while mitigating physical supply risk, and adhering to NBL quality standards.

Job Specification:

Key Performance Areas:

• Developing sourcing strategies for commodities within the assigned portfolio
• Adapt sourcing strategies based on changing market conditions
• Ensure implementation of sourcing strategies, ensure contract compliance, and track benefits delivered
• Drive Total Cost of Ownership reduction without compromising physical supply and maintaining quality standards.
• Using data analytics, market research, benchmarks, and cost modeling to identify and leverage value opportunities that deliver sustainable value, operational efficiencies, and risk mitigation to the business
• Implementing RFx activities for all commodities in scope
• Prepare and implement negotiation strategies
• Develop and execute price risk mitigation strategies including hedge strategies for exchange-traded commodities
• Ensure full alignment of all relevant internal stakeholders in relation to sourcing activities in your portfolio
• Develop and nurture relationships with strategic and critical suppliers across the business 

Minimum Requirements:

Experience:                                                                   

• At least 10 years’ procurement experience, of which must have been in manufacturing, FMCG or heavy industry procurement
• At least 5 years’ experience as a Procurement Manager
• More than 5 years’ strategic sourcing and procurement experience working in the Agri-value chain
• Experience in the procurement of Raw Materials is essential
• Prior exposure to category/commodity management, procurement or an engineering or production environment is highly desirable
• Experience in managing a multi-disciplinary team in a project-type environment will be highly beneficial 

Qualifications:

• Matric/Grade 12
• Completed 3-year bachelor’s degree in procurement, business, finance or engineering field
• Masters or Procurement Certification (MCIPS) a plus
