    Procurement Associate

    Job Purpose

    The professional assistant will be responsible for the management and admin responsibilities of the Group Chief procurement officer. The successful candidate will also be responsible for onboarding and maintaining of existing vendor records .  

     Areas of responsibility  for the professional assistance may include but not limited to:

    • Taking and relaying messages accurately
    • Diary and email management
    • Scheduling meetings: Room bookings, set up, and related document preparation
    •  Preparation of Agenda's, minutes. Matters arising and timeous distribution.
    •  Effectively deal with internal and external escalated queries the same day
    • Continuously build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external clients
    • General administration duties as required of the role

    Areas of responsibility for the Vendor Administrator may include but not limited to:

    • Perform supplier vetting on various procurement systems (Lexis Nexis Procurecheck, NICE Actimize AML, OneTrust, Paradigm)
    • Capturing of new suppliers onto Sage X3 accounting system
    • Ensure that the supplier information is kept up to date on the above-mentioned systems
    • Escalating queries to Vendor Manager, Group Finance as well as the Compliance team
    • Capture and maintain a repository for employee declaration of interest
    •  Compiling and presenting progress reports during staff meetings

    Work Experience

    • Minimum of 2 years experience as a PA supporting a senior manager?
    • Minimum 2 year administrative experience in supply chain management
    • Minimum of 2 years experience with customer relations
    • Experience working on one or more systems (Lexis Nexis Procurecheck, NICE Actimize AML, OneTrust, Paradigm, sage X3)
    • Previous experience within Discovery’s supplier chain environment

    Education / Qualifications / Accreditations with Professional Body

    • A minimum of Matric/NQF 4 qualification
    • Do you have a relevant Degree
    • Do you have a qualification in Project Management
    • Do you have a qualification in supply chain management
    • Intermediate Microsoft skills
