Principle Project Engineer at MECS (Pty) Ltd

Responsibilities:

• Technical Design and Expertise: Completes technical design work under supervision, supports designers, continuously improves technical abilities, and seeks development opportunities.
• Project and Team Interaction: Understands project setup and team structure, works with other discipline designers, and meets deliverable targets and schedules.
• Commercial and Customer Focus: Develops engineering requirements under direction, deputizes for the Chief Piping Engineer, and assists with project proposals.
• Engineering Responsibilities: Manages design and approval of piping work, prepares and approves standards and specifications, ensures compliance with project procedures, budget, and safety regulations.
• Mentorship and Development: Mentors junior engineers, keeps updated with industry developments, and suggests improvements for project efficiency and service.

Educational Requirements:

• BSc, BEng, BTech in Mechanical Engineer or equivalent
• Professional Registered Engineer or equivalent
• Overall 12 years of relevant experience (Mechanical Engineering, Pipe Design, Project Engineering)
• CAESAR II experience (Advantageous)
• Smartplant reference data experience (Advantageous)
