Principal Technician: Science Collections at South African National Biodiversity Institute

Key Performance Responsibilities include:

• Render scientific and data curation of specimens in the herbarium;
• Provide scientific information and plant identification services;
• Contribute to digitisation of specimens in the herbarium;
• Coordinate and conduct scientific curation processes;
• Contribute to knowledge generation projects in the herbarium; and
• Provide mentoring and training to staff and interns in the herbarium.
• This position requires a degree in Botany, Life Sciences, Ecology or equivalent qualification at NQF 7. A relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent qualification at NQF 8 will be an added advantage. This position  requires 4 years of work experience in the relevant field.
