Principal Specialist Data & Analytics at Vodafone Global Enterprise

Role purpose:

This role is responsible for advanced and exploratory data analytics, modelling and insights to:

• Enhance marketing efforts, campaign efficacy and portfolio performance
• To drive business growth and profitability
• To monitor product performance, support product development, and product enhancements through advanced analytics and insights
• To highlight process inefficiencies
• Partner with Qlik developers and solutions architectures to design analytics solutions
• To make data driven adjustments through monitoring and driving insight that enable models that improve product performance (scaling), risk and create efficiencies
• To ensure reporting processes are optimised, through scripting and automation 
• To support with performance monitoring for all lending products
• To act as Data Steward, ensuring all data governance and controls are in place
• To partner with Big Data and IT in the customer 360 data models and analytic tools
• To collaborate with cross-functional teams and external teams to drive the growth of lending products through the development of data solutions and insights
• Extract and analyse raw data on an ad-hoc basis

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reporting & analytics: Ensure that performance monitoring is in place for all products; with desired cadence and frequency
• Data modelling: Build complex data models, while optimising the efficiency and quality of data collection.
• BI Solutions: Partner with Qlik developers and solution architects to design transformational analytical solutions 
• Predictive forecasting: Incorporate predictive forecasting to enhance performance management and maintain models to improve forecast accuracy
• Actionable Insights: Deliver daily and monthly insights from data models to support commercial action and financial steering
• AI into BI: Incorporate new technologies such as machine learning and robotics to increase process efficiencies, enhance predictive forecasting and improve quality of insights

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Honours/Masters in quantitative fields like Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, or related disciplines.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in delivering solid commercial impact advanced analytics projects.
• Expertise in data manipulation: use of structured data tools (e.g. SQL), & unstructured data tools and platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL)
• Expertise in major statistical modelling software packages (e.g., R, SAS) and multivariate techniques (e.g. k-means segmentation, multiple regression, factor analysis, time-series forecasting) - preferred
• Experience in digital analytics and its applications, e.g., google analytics, adobe analytics, social listening, social network analysis)

Core competencies, knowledge, experience:

• Intellectual curiosity, along with excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills, including the ability to disaggregate issues, identify root causes and recommend solutions
• Experience of working on complex data modelling projects to support strategic, financial and regulatory mandates
• 8 years experience required
• Advanced SQL skills including extensive experience querying large, complex data sets
• Skillset: R, Python, SQL
• Experience in working in visualisation tools like Qlik Sense or PowerBI
• Distinctive communications skills and ability to communicate analytical and technical content in an easy to understand way.
• Capable of working under pressure, with stakeholders across many disciplines
