Platform Owner, CIB Digital at Standard Bank Group

Job Purpose:

• To develop and manage the CIB Digital Platform solution generation process while leveraging internal and external capabilities to iteratively test the desirability, viability and feasibility of the solution.

Key outputs include (but are not limited to):

Client Discovery: 

• Plan and co-ordinate client engagements and provide the necessary input and support during client discovery to drive immersion and understanding of the client’s strategic ambitions, pain points and needs.

Ideation:

• Manage the idea generation process by identifying and utilising the appropriate methodology and approach (Design thinking, Lean Start-up etc.) to conduct and facilitate workshops, immersion events, and crowdsourcing platforms to gather multiple ideas to inform the solution design based on the developed client persona.

Innovation Pipeline:

• Select potential ideas from the innovation pipeline that is best fit for purpose based on the client persona and identified pain points and strategic ambition to conduct a quick risk and rewards analysis based on known market and industry trends, product knowledge and technological and digital advancements to identify the one idea / solution that is potentially feasible and viable

Business case:

• Develop the business case / pitch deck that includes the collated research but also highlighting the benefits and risks, expected costs, resources, business capability required, sustainability and Return on Investment (ROI) of pursuing the idea / solution.

Desirability, Feasibility, Viability:

• Engage with multiple partners to determine the feasibility and viability of the idea / solution to enable the design and development while maintaining desirability based on the clients strategic ambition and pain points.

Roadmap:

• Manage the solution delivery roadmap and work closely with the development and technical teams to ensure goals and objectives are achieved within the overall scope, defined design criteria, agreed timeframe and budget while maintaining solution integrity.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

• Develop and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders and teams across various capabilities to leverage insights, knowledge and expertise to develop new ways of working, connect key individuals together, and remediate risks and remove barriers hindering the solution design and development process.

Solution Design:

• Manage, review and update the Wireframe, Protype and Proof of concept to support and guide the optimal development and deployment of an Minimal Viable Product (MVP) for testing and refinement prior to full solution development.

Culture of Innovation:

• Develop the Go to Market Strategy to define the, target markets, client segmentation and relationships, identify the revenue stream and cost structure to position and deliver a unique value proposition that will achieve revenue goals and drive competitive advantage for the business.

Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Information Technology

Experience

• Experience in Financial Services industry with extensive Corporate and Investment banking, sectors and solutions and services knowledge;
• Extensive experience within a technology delivery function for a corporate entity, hands on experience in development, coding, testing and business analysis. Some experience in leading development teams is an advantage.
• Extensive experience in business case/value proposition and narrative development and presentation, with logical storylines, clear ideas, recommendations and data points to influence and persuade relevant internal stakeholders
