    Plant Launch Team Manager

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    POSITION DETAILS

    • Interface with CPE, New Models/VO Launch leaders, Plant Launch leaders, Launch team, PD Engineering and STA.
    • Lead resolution of Launch issues via AIMS, CRs, FCP and other launch perfomance metrics.
    • Support AIM BINNING, Open To Go, Shortage, Start-Up Meetings, White Bpard reviews, Management Review, Launch Team Facilities, Build Scheduleng, FCPA, R202 Drive, Craftsmanship reviews, Night Letter, Alert, Onsite Modifications and Lesson Learn.
    • Provide direction and leadership and prioritize the activities to the  launch team.

    Participate in the virtual DPA-5 process to:

    • Provide manufacturing input to plant and VO engineering teams during the Virtual Build activities.
    • Supply current-state eQPS job instruction sheets and Cycle Line Layout (CLL) ACAD drawings
    • Verify the Bill of Material (B.O.M.) and the Bill of Process (B.O.P.)
    • Identify and address high-hurt issues early
    • Validate product/process compatibility, logging all discovered issues, communicating them to the Launch Team, and managing their resolution.
    • Represent the all shops in all launch activities and at each gateway review.
    • Communicate all concerns to the launch team for coordination and resolution.
    • Establish critical characteristics and apply design for manufacturing / assembly (DFM / DFA) principles
    • Coordinate tooling and facility changes and equipment installations with the Tooling & Facilities engineer
    • Develop a training plan with the LPWR Leader
    • Review all product changes, understanding the differences relative to the current product and their impact to all shops area facilities, tooling and processes
    • Review recommended process changes with the staff engineers
    • Work with the launch team to ensure that all representative tooling is in place and ready to support the pre-production builds
    • Assist the production personnel during the pre-production builds
    • Identify, track and resolve tooling, process and design concerns encountered during the builds
    • Make repair standards for new process availabl;e for Production team
    • Maintain training and versatility charts for all maintenance employees with LPWR Lead.
    • Oversee the development of the Cycle Line Layout (CLL) drawing
    • Assist the LPWR Leader to review the equipment documentation and the technical training materials
    • Assist the Tooling & Facilities Engineer with coordinating plant participation in the tooling vendor design reviews and equipment buyoffs
    • Deliver the Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) and FTPM strategies for the Final Chassis Area.
    • Validate Allocation Planning Tool (APT) work element allocations and validate workstation capability

    PERFORMANCE MEASURES/ SUCCESS CRITERIA

    • 100 % Training competion L1.2
    • Delivery of Facility to Net JPH
    • Contain all Manufacturing
    • Launch Capable Process
    • Complete WSR 100% with no open issue
    • Meet FTT Per build phase
    • Meet Quality matrix controllables for Manufacturing

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES (KSA)

    • LQOS and GPDS.
    • Able to work with a diverse team and adapt communication styles and content to appropriate audiences.
    • Effective communication skills to mediate disputes and uncover hidden objections or concerns.
    • Able to anticipate and resolve problems before they happen.
    • Must display strong customer orientation with a commitment to upholding plant processes through strict adherence to the Quality Operating System.
    • Must demonstrate the ability to execute to achieve results, while organizing and managing multiple priorities
    • Must have the ability to serve as a strong and confident technical mentor to the production organization (both hourly and salaried)

    QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial/Mechanical, Electrical Engineering
    • Minimum of +3 years Manufacturing and Program management Experience in Project Mangement.
