    Planner (Maintenance)

    Overview    

    • Maintain, plan and schedule Asset Care Data in the Computerised Maintenance Management System
    • All activities, roles and responsibilities are aligned to the world class (manufacturing) philosophy, principles and practices

    Qualifications    

    • Trade Test Certificate or National diploma in Engineering
    • Maintenance Planner Qualification (NQF Level 5) would be advantageous
    • Qualification in Project management will be advantageous.

    Experience    

    • 5-10 Years’ Experience as an Artisan in a Manufacturing/Plant Environment Minimum
    • 7 years’ experience in an engineering maintenance environment
    • 2-3 years working experience on CMMS e.g., SAP, Onkey, Maximo, Microsoft AX Experience in MS Projects and shutdown planning / management
    • Excellent computer skills (MS OFFICE)

    Duties    
    Asset Care:

    • Maintain Asset Care Database in CMMS
    • Maintain Scheduled Maintenance Database 
    • Analyses of Repair work 
    • Analyses of Planned and Scheduled work
    • Analyses of MTTR and MTBF per equipment
    • KPI Reporting and Feedback
    • Communicate grouped & prioritized work with Operations (Prod + Eng) personnel and synchronize downtime
    • Group, prioritize and display work per production line / area and sort per work order importance and asset importance and required downtime 
    • Advise foremen and artisans on work planning and resource utilization
    • Produce & print work orders with allocated resources (all work) - Work orders allocated to artisans
    • Resource planning and administration (Tools, labour, spares)
    • Shut down resource planning and administration (Tools, labour, spares)
    • Identify, display and communicate opportunity maintenance work to Production and Engineering

    System Management:

    • Adherence to business processes
    • On the job training of users
    • Condition monitoring alarms appropriately adjusted
    • Link Spares to plant assets or tasks
    • Review and maintenance of linked spares on assets or tasks
    • Handle user queries and problems
    • Asset and asset type verifications and spot checks
    • Evaluate and request master data and report improvements
    • Maintain asset register and new assets listed in system
    • Request coding of assets in plant according to system
    • Request documents linked to tasks and assets
    • Log calls at helpdesk

    Planning and Scheduling Work Process:

    • Work according to Planning and Scheduling Work Process
    • Work according to Planning and Scheduling Work Process as per Engineering Discipline

    Data Capturing:

    • Incomplete work order data is effectively dealt with; random checks on data captured for accuracy & completeness 
    • Check call-out work orders on a daily basis for accurate information entered (Asset, Type of Work etc)
    • Ensure Downtime is Captured in CMMC
    • Follow-up work arising from inspections captured in CMMS

    Job Competencies    
    Analysis & reporting:

    • Communicate findings and predictions effectively to right level in organization
    • Condition monitoring alarms evaluated and actioned and fed back in system
    • Use control reports and profiles to check data and transaction accuracy 
    • Condition monitoring alarm reporting managed 
    • Assist with and provide information for engineering incident investigations

    Auditing: 

    • Assist with audit preparations and analysis, Business Process (BPR) compliance assessments and external audits

    Client satisfaction:

    • Effective communication, monitoring and evaluation of users, conveying of actual and improvement opportunities to management and team

    PM Development & Improvement:

    • Assist with preventative maintenance schedules (PM) development
    • Encourage PM continuous improvement suggestions, assist with managing improvement suggestions

    General
