The ideal candidate will have an ability to create and maintain an efficient system of operation to support the business needs. The candidate should be comfortable multitasking and working cross-functionally with different business units. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in Fresh Produce and FMCG. Key Responsibilities:

Ensure Purchases to Sales % is within budget

•  Monitor prices of raw material weekly to assess impact on Purchases to Sales
•  Measure Yields of Crisp, Cabbage and tomatoes daily
•  Measure waste in Low Risk, High Risk and Labelling on a daily basis
•  Measure and monitor dumping’s in all areas daily
•  Achieve stock levels targets
•  Monitor all incoming raw material against specifications
•  Monitor all promotions run by Key Accounts Managers
•  Measure stock take variances on produce weekly

Manage Labour

•  Manage all production lines for optimum efficiency daily
•  Plan daily production in both Low Risk and High Risk
•  Monitor viability of lines (both in low risk and High risk) monthly
•  Manage absenteeism rate: all departments
•  Plan and coordinate Shift for high season
•  Ensure Factory downtime is kept to a minimum

Manage Overheads

•  Adhere to Lean Manufacturing Practices daily
•  Measure electricity usage daily
•  Compare costs of chemicals, protective gear, basic equipment to budget on mtd basis
•  Measure water usage daily
•  Measure cost of staff transport monthly

Manage Packaging Material

•  Achieve Packaging as % of turnover is within monthly budget

Manage HR

•  Oversee HR Function
•  Control all leave forms before submitting to HR administrator: Dept Heads
•  Chair disciplinary hearings when needed
•  Ensure all managers are adequately trained in Company policies and procedures: HR
•  Assist HR consultant with all Seta, ATR and WSP information

Manage Maintenance

•  Record all factory breakdowns
•  Measure downtime weekly
•  Ensure Preventative maintenance program is adhered to
•  Ensure sufficient spare parts are kept in store

Manage Technical

•  Adhere to all GMP's SOP's and MOP's daily
•  Measure all non-conformances weekly
•  Coordinate packing of all samples
•  Coordinate NPD process in Plant
•  Coordinate all launches

Manage Health and Safety

•  Improve on IOD continually
•  Ensure that all employees comply to health and safety regulations

Critical Skills needed:

•  Experience in managing multiple production lines and processes
•  Experience in OEE and efficiency improvement
•  Sound knowledge of Quality Management Systems
•  Sound knowledge of Food Safety Systems
•  Sound knowledge of health and safety rules and OHS ACT
•  Sound knowledge of HR / IR and LRA
•  Leadership skills
•  Above average communication skills - both verbally and written
•  Above average numerical skills
•  High levels of integrity
•  Time management skills
•  Attention to detail
•  Excellent knowledge of all raw material and finished goods specs
•  Computer literacy in Excel, Word and Outlook
•  Fair understanding of electrical and mechanical workings

•  Sound knowledge of financial results
•  Ability to build excellent relationships with customers
•  Ability to manage a diverse workforce Minimum Requirements
•  8 -10 years’ experience in related industry
•  Tertiary Education with degree in Production management / Food Science /
•  engineering
