Open Pit Manager (Kathu) at Afrimat

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

• Relevant BSc Degree
• Blasting ticket for surface mines
• 5+ years' mining operations or a similar operation
• Experience in supervising and managing operations activities and staff
• Flexibility to work outside of normal hours, during emergencies and planned overtime
• Valid driver's license
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

• Supervise and manage the performance of the mining operators, equipment and processes according to the operating plans and procedures
• Establish schedules and methods for providing mining services, maintaining and updating all operating and maintenance documentation and manuals
• Coordinate Grade control of the relevant mine
• Good understanding of mining principles and planning
• Coordinate activities of third-party contractors to minimize disruption of mining processes
• Ensure health and safety legislation and contractual obligations are adhered to
• Ensure complete confidentiality of all information pertaining to the business of the company
