Officer Strata Control at Sibanye-Stillwater

Minimum Required Qualification:

• Matric with Maths and Science • Certificate in Strata Control

The Appointee should:

•  3 year experience in Strata Control 
• Mining experience sufficient to enable him to fulfil the role 
• Valid code 08 driver’s license and own transport 
• Computer skills for role 
• Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre

Advantageous Qualifications:

• Blasting Certificate is advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

• To undertake regular underground visits to monitor compliance to support standards and to delineate areas with possible strata control problems. 
• Carry out appropriate rock engineering measurement 
• Liaise with the Shift Supervisors to determine their individual needs according to their operational plans or problems encountered. 
• Input relevant data into plans and layouts. 
• Monitor underground conditions and reporting to the Shaft Rock Engineer. 
• Guideline management in standards for secti
