NRG 75/24 Coordinator: GIS Analytics at City of Cape Town

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree or equivalent in Geographic Information Systems or Geography and/or Information Systems with geospatial major
• A minimum of 8 years post graduate experience with advanced ESRI ArcGIS
• Enterprise GIS experience and exposure to its application in the electrical utility environment
• Supervisory experience
• Sound project implementation skills, particularly in GIS projects
• Experience in Python, ArcGIS Arcade, SQL, Excel, Access
• Experience in spatial and relational database design, systems analysis and design
• Driver’s licence (Code EB)

Key Performance Areas

• The Energy Directorate seeks an experienced professional with a strong foundation in database design, foundational elements, validation and analysis in the specific GIS platform in order to achieve the required analytical capability
• Coordinator: GIS Analytics, Reporting and Support
• Geospatial Master Data Management such as Aerial Photography, Base Maps and Elevation Models, Utility Network model design and maintenance, Data Security and Access Control
• Manage the ongoing examination, assessment and verification of data quality and integrity in data hosting structures
• Manage complex data analysis for the production of thematic maps and reports in support of evidence-based decision-making in EGD business processes
• Conduct research into data requirements when applying geospatial technology
• Establish, manage and provide technical support to EGD personnel in the effective use of geospatial technology in business processes
