Network Security Specialist at Discovery Limited

Job Purpose

Responsible for Network Security and technology management to ensure continuous protection of the Bank’s information systems from internal and external threats. The key purpose of the role is network security; however, the incumbent is expected to expand to other cyber security domains such as access management, end point protection etc.

Areas of responsibility may include but are not limited to

• Support and maintain various network security technologies including Network security, Firewalls, Denial of service Protection, Intrusion prevention/Detection, Network access control, Web Application Firewalls, Virtual Private Network (VPN), Content filtering, Email and Internet/browsing Security
• Continuously review technology policy configuration to ensure maximum protection and compliance enforcement.
• Review and recommend technology improvement initiatives.
• Ensure network security controls/design enforce compliance requirements such as PCIDSS.
• Security strategy discussions on key projects within the organisation
• Quality assessment and implementations of all configurations and equipment
• Security Incident and Event Management, and investigations of all networks related security events and incidents.
• Assist and drive planning and implementation of all network and other security technology
• Advise the business of security risks and important infrastructure requirements
• Implement and install new network security devices and their appropriate updates
• Troubleshoot new and existing infrastructure
• Manage the reporting of security technologies
• Execute security projects
• Perform operational risk assessments and provisioning of daily requests such as firewall rule changes, mail and internet access and whitelisting requests, endpoint protection and DLP whitelisting requests, VPN access and other network related access, firewall management and compliance using firewall management tools, etc

Education and Experience

• CISSP
• 5+ years of relevant Network Security Management experience in an enterprise environment
• Must possess a strong knowledge of Cisco an Paloalto technologies
• 3+ years of Dos protection and WAF support in enterprise environments
• Knowledge of vulnerability management and Configuration Security
• Knowledge of Cloud security will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of Privileged Access Management will be advantageous.
