    National Manager: Design and Future Learning

    About the Job

    Job Summary

    • Eduvos is looking to employ the services of a National Manager: Desing and Future Learning, to be based at any of our National campuses. campus.

    Type of position:

    • Permanent

    The Position:

    • To head up and lead the academic content development and digital transformation of academic delivery in Eduvos, thereby contributing to a competitive advantage to the business through its service offering.

    Minimum Requirements
    Minimum qualification:

    • A relevant post graduate qualification
    • A PhD will be preferable

    Minimum experience:

    • At least five years’ experience in the higher education industry in academic management / senior academic management roles related to content development and utilisation of technology in the classroom

    Duties and Responsibilities
    Responsibilities:

    • As the Academic Head of Programme, you will be responsible for:

    Operating / Financial results:

    • Accountable for the performance of the academic content development team
    • Capacilty building
    • Optimally use technology / product
    • Enhance the student learning experience through learning facilitation across all modes of delivery
    • Expert advice and guidance
    • Promote Eduvos as an abassador and spokesperson for the Institution on matters pertaining to academic digital design

    Management:

    • Compile Design and Future Learning budget and manage it continuously – expense and capex
    • Design and Future Learning strategy implementation through Business and Operational Plans,goals and schedules
    • Design and Future Learning implementation Monitoring, Control, Corrective Action
    • Workflow / alignment / silos / communication
    • Escalations / Decisions / Problem solving relating to Design and Future Learning
    • Resourcing and capacity management of Design and Future Learning (people; infrastructure; systems; technology; equipment)
    • Operational efficiency and innovation of Design and Future Learning – processes, policies, structures and governance / systems / standards and measurement / methodologies
    • Design and Future Learning organisation structure and roles
    • Reporting (Design and Future Learning)
    • Compiling of reports / presentations and understanding (analysing) and interpreting and acting / responding

    Leadership

    • Design and Future Learning strategy, direction (Contribution to Academics strategy and team effectiveness)
    • Talent acquisition, selection, onboarding and succession / bench strength
    • Individual performance - role clarity and objectives; reviews; feedback; corrective actions
    • Skill levels - training & development & coaching
    • Culture and climate and change

    Reward and recognition

    • Stakeholder engagement and communications
    • Internal and external stakeholder engagement and management / collaboration

    • Funtional competencies: monstrated thorough knowledge of the South African higher education environment, as well as the national and international realities of this sector that increasingly uses online learning
    • Excellent understanding of digital curriculum development, assessment and teaching and learning
    • Excellent understanding of higher education regulatory framework
    • Excellent communication skills in diverse environments
    • The ability to function effectively within a multicultural environment
    • The ability to represent the Eduvos’ interests in the industry and community
    • High level understanding of digital design principles
    • Understanding of learner management systems
    • The ability to analyse and interpret content, learning outcomes and target audience level to construct an end-to-end learner experience framework that is suitable to an online learning environment
