    Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator - Cape Town

    Purpose of the position: 

    • The Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator reports to the Professional Nurse Coordinator and M&E Director and leads all M&E activities within the project, i.e. data quality, data usage, data analysis and reporting. The project will be focused on scaling up TB Preventative therapy in Khayelitsha, City of Cape Town, through training and advocacy. The M&E Coordinator will oversee the development and roll-out of effective M&E processes, tools and systems for the project as well as provide technical assistance through mentorship, training and support. Participation in relevant internal, district and sub-district Department of Health M&E and data discussions and activities and provide ongoing technical support

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Grade 12 coupled with a Certificate in Computer Package
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in data management, data analysis, maintaining and/or updating databases; data verification / quality assurance experience and/or training
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working specifically in the TB field - knowledge of TB indicators
    • TIER.Net, DHIS, Advanced MS Excel and information management background is essential
    • Valid code 08 driver’s licence
    • Fluent in English and another South African language

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Build and maintain partnerships with all stakeholders, including provincial and district Departments of Health (DoH) staff
    • Co-ordinate the collection, analysis, presentation and appropriate utilisation of information at facility and sub-district
    • Develop M&E tools, SOPs and systems for specific programme areas
    • Ensure and monitor compliance to M&E and Data Management plans, frameworks, SOPs as well as data management processes
    • Conduct on site data verification visits and data quality audits
    • Maintain a database of all audit activities and monitor the implementations of the action plans
    • Compile reports on site visits and develop data quality improvement plans
    • Ensure staff are capacitated to adhere to M&E and data management requirements
    • Collects, validates, analyses, interprets and summarises data collected from the facilities and in preparation for generation of reports as well as merge, modify and edit data files
    • Support the development of dashboard and presentations
    • Reports on progress and achievements timeously at programme level, by compiling accurate reports for funders and stakeholders
